Ben Farrar Announced as Head Coach and Player
Ben Farrar takes over the Head Coach and player role at NYRL
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - New York Rugby League is pleased to announce the signing of Ben Farrar as the Head Coach and player for the 2022 NARL season. Farrar a native of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, played for North Queensland and Manly-Warringah in the NRL; the Catalan Dragons, and the London Broncos of the English Super League. Most recently Farrar has been coaching at Newcastle Knights (NRL) with both the Junior’s and Women’s teams.
“I am honored to be announced head coach/player of the NY rugby league team. It is a position of great significance and one I am honored to be appointed to” Farrar said.
NYRL CEO, Justin Tucker, expressed his enthusiasm to have Farrar join the club for the NARL season,
“It is exciting to have Ben join us, not just a player with both NRL and Super League experience, but as someone who has been coaching in the Junior’s and Women’s. I believe he can help grow and mold the raw talent of American players and athletes, who might have the same number of years of rugby league experience.”
Farrar will not only be coaching NYRL but he also brings his high-level of playing experience as a Center/Full-Back/Five-Eight to the club. Farrar knows what it takes to win both on the field and off.
“I look forward to bringing my playing and coaching experience to the states and help setting up a club with enormous potential. I can’t wait to get started” stated Farrar.
